Pick the 3×3 IG grid preset for a nine-post mosaic, or 3×1 IG banner for a single row across your profile. Post the tiles in reverse order (bottom-right first, top-left last) so the mosaic assembles correctly on your profile. Each tile exports at full source resolution; Instagram scales on upload, so a 3000 px wide source gives clean 1000 px tiles.

Yes. Use the Halves presets: the ↔ preset cuts one vertical line into a left and right half, the ↕ preset cuts one horizontal line into a top and bottom half. With exactly two tiles the download is still a ZIP; deselect one tile to download the other half as a single file.

Yes. Every tile starts selected. Click any tile in the preview to exclude it (it dims), click again to re-include it. The download only contains selected tiles. If exactly one tile is selected, it downloads directly as a single image instead of a ZIP.

Yes. Cut positions are computed as rounded fractions of the original pixel size, so tile widths differ by at most one pixel and always sum to the exact source dimensions. Nothing is cropped, padded, or rescaled. A 4000 × 3000 photo split 3×3 gives tiles of 1333 or 1334 px per side.

Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, and iPhone HEIC (decoded in the browser automatically). Output: keep the original format, or convert every tile to JPEG, PNG, or WebP at export time. JPEG and WebP quality is adjustable from 50% to 100%; PNG is always lossless.

Yes. No accounts, no daily caps, no per-image size limit, no watermark. The split happens in your browser using canvas; nothing uploads. We never see your image.

When the source is JPEG and the output is JPEG, the Keep EXIF toggle (on by default) copies the original date, GPS, and camera tags into every tile. PNG and WebP tiles do not carry EXIF because browser encoders do not write it for those formats.

Up to 12 columns × 12 rows, which is 144 tiles. For Instagram the practical presets are 3×1 (three posts in a row) and 3×3 (a nine-post mosaic). For very large sprite sheets, split in passes: split into rows first, then split each row into columns.

The pixels themselves are copied 1:1 from the original; nothing is rescaled. If you export tiles as PNG, the result is lossless. If you export as JPEG or WebP, each tile is re-encoded once at your chosen quality; set 95% or higher for visually lossless output.

Cropping keeps one region and discards the rest. Splitting keeps everything: it cuts the full image into tiles along a grid, so the pieces reassemble into the original. If you want a single region, use our crop tool instead; if you want every piece, split.
