Common questions about checking image size.

How do I find the size of an image?

How do I check an image's dimensions in pixels?
The width and height rows show the exact pixel dimensions, for example 4032 × 3024. That is the number portals mean when they ask for 'minimum 1000 px wide' or 'exactly 1080 × 1080'.
What is the difference between file size and image size?
Image size (dimensions) is the pixel grid: 4032 × 3024. File size is how many bytes the file takes on disk: 3.2 MB. They are related but independent: the same 4032 × 3024 photo can be 8 MB as a high-quality JPEG or 400 KB heavily compressed. This tool shows both.
How do I know how many megapixels my photo is?
Megapixels = width × height ÷ 1,000,000. A 4032 × 3024 photo is 12.2 MP. The tool computes it for you; it is the spec camera listings quote and a quick proxy for print size (roughly 300 px per inch for sharp prints).
What is my image's aspect ratio?
The tool reduces width : height to the simplest form and snaps to the common name when it is close: 4032 × 3024 shows as 4:3, 1920 × 1080 as 16:9, 1080 × 1350 as 4:5. Useful for checking whether a photo fits an Instagram, YouTube, or print slot without cropping.
Can I check iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. HEIC files are decoded in the browser automatically and their pixel dimensions, ratio, and file size are shown like any other format.
